I use Matlab in my research. Visualizing functions and algorithm outputs can help debugging, it leads to new ideas and can produce beautiful images. Everyone loves the colorful plots imagesc makes using some predefined color-maps. One such color-map (Nx3 matrix) is "jet". Below are a few of such colorful plots from my own research. Enjoy!
