Biography

Krishnendu Roy is a Professor of Computer Science at Valdosta State University, a public comprehensive university in south Georgia. He also serves as the Department Head of the Department of Computer Science. Prior to joining VSU, Krishnendu completed his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Engineering at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA in 2009 and 2005 respectively. Krishnendu completed his undergraduate studies at University of Calcutta, Calcutta, India in 2003 where he obtained a B.Tech. in Information Technology and a B.Sc. in Computer Science. Currently, he is involved in Broadening Participation in Computing related activities like computing summer camps and teachers' workshops. He has organized many summer-camps over the past ten years and two Google CS4HS workshops. He has also conducted teachers'-trainings at various venues. He is interested in developing instructional resources for novice programming languages for various outreach activities. He is also interested in developing new activities and formulating best-practices for various outreach activities. During his doctoral studies he worked on reconfigurable computing algorithms and its applications to network switch routing.
